I am down there the last 2 weeks in June and staying just to the east on the outskirts of town. Sounds like a plan to have a meeting if your about at that time.

Hall and Woodhouse, well I was in the Brewery shop last Saturday and have done the Brewery tour and just in time as the old Brewery has been phased out and replaced with a modern one on the same site.

Funny thing is (and why I remembered this now somewhat ageing thread) is that mine had the same, only Nearside and has done similar mileage since.
However, today's MOT (at a different test station) did not comment on this at all.

The only advisories were on the rear tyre wear being close to the legal limit, which I know and will be dealing with shortly.

That said, I used my new-found very local Audi independent (did my gearbox fluid recently) who take your car in and get it MOT'ed (arrangement with a local MOT station) then fix whatever is needed with no retest fees.
Nothing needed fixing so it was only £43 all in, nearly 25% off the standard fee.

Advisories are very much down to the opinion of the tester for bushes and stuff, and sometimes how hard they pull the lever to check for travel

what's the uk rule about having the same brand of tyre on an axle
got a brand new spare and not sure that a matching tyre is still available

Hmmmm don't quote me but IF there is a spare in the boot it will be checked .....no spare no check if you get my drift!

As long as the tyres are the same size and type brand does not matter

And yep. Most MOT testers won't even look at the type of tyre as long as it is legal, i've seen summer and winter tyres mixed on alxes.

Quattro wants tyres with similar tread to keep all the rolling radius's the same or similar but i'm not convinced it would make much difference to it. It can handle full lock.
