Fuel consumption... what are you getting?

For my 1 mile commute, the 3.7 D3 is averaging 9MPG. The engine does not get up to temperature, so its just not efficient. On a good run it just about manages 30MPG.

Well, it varies.
I'm able to get to as low as 4mpg

The most I got driving 30miles across London 6-7am on Saturday morning like a complete t**t was 22mpg -ish. Don't know if the performance remap on the engines ECU is to blame for. That was on D and gear changes were in the region of 1600rpms, only from 1st to 2nd 2000rpms.

Motorway, combined-20miles dual carriageway with roundabouts and traffic lights plus 130miles on M1 - 33-36mpg, thats 70-85mph (occasionally 100mph)

Usually combination of dual carriageway and residential streets (12miles run), normal driving 12-18mpg.

Had to jump in on this one as I'm very a**l about this.

I have a record of every fill up for over 2 years, showing an average of 21.29 mpg, but as David says, my commute is about 70 miles per day on a mix of motorway, dual carriageway and B roads.

My worst ever tank full was just under 19 mpg and my best just under 24 mpg.

I'm still averaging about 22.5mpg on Shell V-Power Nitro+, a few short journeys but mostly motorway on cruise control.
That's from the DIS but I reckon it's pretty accurate when I've done some quick mental calculations.
The absolute value doesn't bother me too much (or I wouldn't have an S8 ) but the relative variation is of some interest.

The average has dropped to 22.2mpg as the last few days have seen some sizeable journeys that involved more "spirited" driving and the box in Sport mode. .

I found round town about 21 and on a longer motorway run with a light right foot i have about 31mpg . The best i have seen was on the way back from Cob to Leicester with the engine up to temp and at about 65mpg was 38 mpg..

When I was running on petrol for the first five months of ownership, I averaged 24mpg. I now have it running on LPG, the figures for which aren't great, although I suspect it may be due to a faulty thermostat. Averaging just 16mpg. Tend to be a "Driving Miss Daisy" driver until I need to pass someone.

That's interesting. My 3.7 returns 23.9 to 24 consistently on the DIS

My actual figure was 23.92, but that's just being too a**l. My DIS is screwed up and reads 200mpg, so I rely on Excel instead

I don't understand how you all getting 22+mpgs everyday.
I was able to achieve it only early in the morning over the weekend with little traffic across London.
16-18mpg is average for me driving really calm on D.

Is the performance ramap here to blame or you guys are just a bunch of calm drivers ??

If you're driving in low speed limits in London I'm not surprised.
Most of my mileage is on motorways under cruise control.
Driving locally or short journeys consumption is terrible.
