Default D2 Sport wheels on a D3

Fitted some D2 sport alloys to my D3.

Both wheels are 18".
D3 wheels have a ET43.
D2 wheels have a ET48.
D2 tyres 235/40.
D3 tyres 255/45.
They are very close to the calipers when running 360mm brakes.
There is a chance they will hit, so 5mm spacers are recommended.

Just to add that is wrong tyre size for D2, you would use them on A4 or A6. D2 would be 245/45R18. I was actually hoping I would win them on annual meet and use them on A6 to see what the difference stickier rubber makes.

I was wondering why the wheels looked so small, till I read this bit. Those tyres are indeed completely the wrong size, and have a smaller diameter. A difference of -6% in fact, the recommended maximum difference is only 2.5%. In effect the tyre diameter on the sport wheels are 40mm to small.

You really need to get the tyres swapped between the wheels and then use spacers to get the required clearance.

I knew the tyre size was wrong before I fitted them.

Fitted them for a giggle to see what they would look like.

And they looked silly with that size tyre on.

I'll the tyres replaced with something more fitted the D3 and see what they look like then.

Small tires here too, but came with the car when I bought it.

Is that yours? Didn't realise the ceramic option was so big, looks very lush though

It's one thing that lets my A8 down, iv always increased disc size on my cars, usually for function over form but the look is lovely too.

No its not mine, would be a happy man if it were though, I think thats rs6 ceramics on the front, D3 ceramics are a wee bit smaller, I can squeeze a 19" rim onto mine I don't think you could squeeze a 20" over that ones in the photo.

Funny why the rs6 brakes are bigger, never the less rs6 or s8 I bet the ceramic brakes make a big difference over standard brakes, and look the mutts nuts too
