At least you don't have that problem with BMWs as you know they don't even have indicators fitted, so just assume the worst!

1998 D2 PF S8. AgateGrey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.

And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

I did have a go in a new V90 and that was overly-safe. If you moved lanes without indicating, it would vibrate the steering wheel when the camera sees the lane lines being crossed.
Don't get me wrong, the car is great and 'driver aids' can be turned off.

I was taught to use the indicators during both aspects of the manoeuvre, essentially whenever changing lanes.

Have you never experienced the Manoeuvre-Signal lot, where they indicate after they have started the manoeuvre!

OK so i can confirm the car did brake itself to keep within the speed limit, only when adaptive cruise is on. I went down the A45 today and it was set on 60. Just before the 50mph section there was a 50mph sign flashing in the HUD and the car slowly braked until it reduced the speed to 50mph and then carried on as normal.

In D mode, I also noticed a green symbol that looks like a foot pressing the pedal. Without reading the manual, I am assuming this is telling me the optimum time to brake for a junction for best economy. This doesn't show in 'S' mode which is why I haven't noticed it until today!

I remember reading that all D5s were supposed to be Hybrids, so do I have a Hybrid?

The 'Hybrid' is referring to the 48V system that it comes with. Here is a short Audi video of how it works:

Thanks. I've definitely felt some of it when off the gas, feels like powerful engine braking

I never knew that the A8 D5 (55) badge meant that it was a 3.0 engine! That is a confusing way to badge a car.

In fact all the new badges are not as logical as the old system.
