Default Top Gear presenters

So I am sure you will have all seen the news today, Top Gear has announced its refreshed presenting lineup.

https://www.topgear.com/car-news/top...ear-presenters

I am sure the powers that be have a master-plan but to me it seems like another nail in the coffin. Maybe they should replace Chris Harris with Peter Kay or a celebrity chef and be done with it.

Are Freddie and Paddy known for being 'petrol heads'? I use Jay Kay, Rowan Atkinson, Nick Mason as obvious examples.

I don't mind Paddy in comedy acting roles, but I'm not sure I'd want to watch him as a Top Gear presenter ...
(... though he does throw a good black pudding: https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.u...just_champion/)

And Freddie Flintoff!?? Isn't he one of those idiots who believe the earth's flat!?

Perhaps they should make another 'Reliant Robin Space Shuttle' rocket and strap him into it!

It's got to be better than Chris "LOOK AT ME!!! I'M THE STAR HERE!!!" Evans.

I am sure they will have some banter.

I watch the Grand Tour but watching Hamster and May demurely taking Crap of Jezza, well, that was getting old when they were still on TG.

Again, it's better than Chris Evans though.

It always happens with every and all types of show. It gets popular on the back of people who may actually know stuff; they then want to "upgrade" the presenters and also have the diversity issues to deal with and so, hey presto, at the moment, the "go to" person seems to be Claire Balding....... or to keep the balance, Matt Baker. Once they're known faces, they seem to get everywhere.

Glad to see they've retained Chris Harris - mainly 'cos I went to school with him and it's nice to see him doing well for himself

Anyone that can justify the man-maths he's done over the years to run various Porkers and Ferraris is clearly certifiable

HMM
I'll give them rope.
Top gear was never really about cars, they were the backdrop.
Well, not since the days of chris goeffey measuring the size the boot on a maestro.
Jensen would have been a good choice but if you think what it actually entails to make a show why would any of these multimillionaires be driving a suzuki vitara through frozen fields in south wales at 3am? That was Matt LeBlancs problem, (apart from being wooden) he never looked like he actually wanted to be there. Fair point about Rory, he was growing into it I thought. Forced banter between paddy and freddie might be just as cringy as Chris+Matt. However Freddie has just done a couple of road trips in the states with James Corden, Jack Whitehall and Jamie Rednap and although I don't watch the quiz show, the road trips were very very funny. We'll see.
Still we have another series of woody to watch before then
