What superlative are they going to use for that, now that we've already had 'insane mode' and 'ludicrous mode'? .... 'f-ing mental mode' maybe!? That's gotta be pushing the physical limits of the tyres now. The strain on the rubber must be huge, overcoming inertia so quickly and with so much torque.

To be honest, I think that'll be far less of a challenge that the ones faced by supercars with combustion engines - I remember watching a programme where technical difficulty of forcing enough air into the engine of a Bugatti Veyron at high speed was discussed: an ever-more-difficult-to-square physics equation that may be a bit easier with the simpler model of just an electric motor and batteries.

I want to try the truck
When is he going to build a decent bus/coach? For personal safety, stay clear of North Wales into Llandudno tomorrow, I'm there in a coach.

Is there a noticeable difference in range during winter / cold with things like rear demist, heater, heated mirrors, heated ventilating massage seats, rear entertainment and the likes switched on?

However, the range can drop by as much as 20% if you're comparing "best case" (summer temperature, dry, low winds) with "worst case" (cold, wet and windy...) However, the same would be the case with an ICE car - the only difference is the reported data on this in a Tesla is a bit more explicit and detailed. And AFAIK, Tesla don't do things like heated ventilating massage seats, or rear entertainment - other than watching other cars disappearing in the rear view mirror .

Interesting, I was just wondering is all, not just about Tesla, well obviously Tesla because you have one and can get first hand knowledge, but what the future of luxury cars will be 8's & 7 series that do demand a lot of power other than for drives.

Plaid and Ludicrous are references to the '87 movie 'Spaceballs': https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mk7VWcuVOf0
