Default Engine pics

Morning all,

Project took a major step forward on Wednesday, heads back on, belts fitted and starting to look like an engine! See pics

Currently bolting on exhaust pipes, water pipes and kombi valves to the back of the engine. Definitely not a job i want to repeat any time soon!

Does anyone have pics of an aqh engine built up without the plastic covers on? Im looking to see where the various hoses, wires and connectors are routed on top of the fuel rail/rocker covers etc.

Do these help?

This is an AQG so the water pipe is wrong but everything else is the same. This is before I put it in so no wiring, but I can pop the covers off mine and get some more pics if you need them. I found the wiring was pretty self-explanatory tbh - the injectors and coilpacks are all numbered and all the other connectors sit next to the things they belong to

I took the kombi valves off mine since they were just in the way, and made up blanking plates instead. There's loads more room for access down the back with them out of the way. I haven't got them coded out yet though.

Brilliant!
Thank you

I'll see how I get on this weekend with the mechanical side of things.
Looks like most of the wiring falls to hand, it's more the routing of cables/vacuum hoses etc. that I'm trying to sort - it's the joys of finishing off someone elses project, no photos taken at the start to refer to.

SAI solenoid valve - it sits on top of the fuel rail in that corner. You can just see it next to the breather hose in my second pic, with two vac lines connected to it. The vac input goes to the front where the manifold valves are, the vac output goes down the back to the kombi valves.

The red arrow points at the valve. The green line is the vac supply from the front - this is tee'd in to the main vac line to the reservoirs in the wings. The yellow line is the feed to the kombi valves, tee-d underneath the round oil separator pod.

Wondered where the 2 long vac hoses went to.
Valve missing from the box of misc. bits that came with the car.

Thank you for the info
