Default D3 Info from IT / Ian hoped for please...

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...8291995655417/

What is this all about then?
I seem to spy electric rear seats hidden in the pic too?

Could this be like the FE d2 that in the flesh you kinda "get" that interior combo??

That's not far from me mate, I've sent the seller a message asking if it's still available.

If it is I'll go and give it a once over if you like?

Electric rear (4 seater) with massage / ventilated seats all round

Exclusive Red interior

Sunroof, Keyless, blinds, bose, soft close, interior light pack, cd changer, sat nav, etc

I've seen this red interior combo only once before - on a W12.

The spec sheet for this car seems to suggest its the likely the interior it was built with, rather than a retrofit, although the front grill suggests ACC, where the build sheet says not.

Its a classic split grill, and the interior won't be to everyone's taste, limiting its value.

The MOT history isn't ideal to say the least. Looks like its been off the road for a while, so would want to understand a lot more behind that if I were looking at it.

It could be a nice car, but wants a good look over imo.

Love the interior, nice spec, 20" Cantona wheels too - that's a quarter of the value of the car there all day long if they're straight and clean.

Bit rough around the edges but you'd be getting an awful lot of car for £3,500...

Good spot, I noted something was different but couldnt place it !

Note also the trade plates in the window.

He's either a trader, or he's not.

If hes a trader playing private unwarranted sale though Facebook, that's very naughty imo....

I assumed it was a trader anyway given the comments:
"was a dealer part ex car" (i.e., we got it in when selling something better) and "Part ex swaps welcomed".
As for how it's displayed on Facebook Marketplace, as a non-Facebook user it didn't look untoward; regular Facebookers may know otherwise.

2003 D2 FL S8. Irish Green Pearl/Beige. Solar sunroof, auto-dim mirrors, electric rear seat functions, ski hatch retrofit; extended leather. Aftermarket DVB-T, reversing camera and full XCarlink (Bluetooth etc.).
2016 Volvo V40 T5 Cross Country (4WD) with ALL the toys including adaptive cruise etc. etc. Osmium Grey with Blonde/Charcoal leather interior. Polestar performance "optimisation". (A much rarer model than a D2 S8 by the way!) Oh, and a brand new engine at just under 30,000 miles on the factory one!
Finally: gone, but not forgotten.....
1998 D2 PF S8. AgateGrey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)
1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon, Auto-dim mirror, Leather, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer.
And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

Appreciated as always fellas. I saw it a couple of weeks back and it just tickled a mild curiousity. Then with a sale pending collection on my d2, it came around again.

It really is one of those odd balls. I love my interior specs above and beyond wheels etc (as they can be readily swapped out) I know that Alfa's and BMW's often have a slightly more unusual interior option (hence being drawn to the 730d with an ivory leather spec)

There are questions being asked to which I am awaiting a reply.

Suffice to say that I am curious enough to want to view it even if just to see it in the flesh.

Owner says he was told that it sees 38mpg on lpg on a run which isnt quite the diesel figures that I was initially chasing after. I also had 2 Saabs on lpg which both blew out their bottom ends (although many of them have a habit of this anyhoo...)

Will keep you all posted.

Will drop you a whattsapp Ronnie

Well I asked late last night if it was still available, received a simple "Yes" this morning.

I asked his location as I already have a D3 but would like the opportunity to view the car on behalf of a friend as I'm local to him?

That was 08:00 this morning, I'm still waiting for a response

That sort of ignorance would immediately put me off dealing with him. If he's not being co-operative with a potential customer before the car is even viewed I highly doubt he'd be easy to deal with once money had changed hands.

I'd give it a big swerve Paul, unless you're already in talks with him and he's ignoring me because he's got a direct line to you?

Ok so I had a look today. Turns out it was all but 10 minutes from my house!,!

It's a straight enough car taken in part ex by a really sound fella who is a Japanese car import specialist. It's not his scene but was a part ex against a Porsche I believe.

The car had been dressed in a white wrap until very recently and has a few battle scars of lacquer lift and cosmetic damage from its removal. Nothing nasty but the eye falls on to it under scrutiny.

The interior is complete although again a little tired. Most of the plastics need a repaint or way to restore them as they are very weathered. Leather is all good and needs a deep clean and conditioning. It's a deep ox blood colour in the flesh and wont be too everyone's taste for sure.electrics are working on all. Massage system I would hope has some kind of option to intensify as it was nothing more than a lightest of touches in your back from any seat. Obviously with the scarcity of it the owners book made no mention of now they function.

Soft close doors are a little intermittent.

We struggled to see clear movement I the suspension adjustment so it would be advised to suggest this needs some diagnostics carried out.

Wheels are a 4/10 but the owner was kind enough to offer to have them dipped and painted at trade cost with his usual people.

We didn't test drive as the maths just wasn't adding up on it for me personally. It certainly starts and ticks over and revs up without issue. The lpg tank was empty on viewing so couldn't be seen working although the wine assures me he ran it until it ran out. Tank is in spare wheel well which meant carrying the spare in the boot which I couldn't cope with personally.

Worth a look and play even just to tick it off as a rare beast indeed that I have now experienced.

For any genuine perspective buyers I would happily revisit with any questions or tests that you wished to see carried out. As I say the owner was a local lad who was passionate and honest about his cars.
