Default Preventative Maintenance etc

i love it !
new Brembo brakes all round on the track car (done) inc RS4 calipers.
next...
so ive put new rear Brembo discs/pads on the TT .
next...
ive got the A8 on the ramp now changing the rear discs/pads for S8 ones.
after seeing a bit of corrosion on some small brackets (metal) holding the suspension height sencors on im removing them to clean and paint them.
next...
there seems to be many bolts and screws etc that are vulnerable to corrosion too underneath not usually in vision
so i have used spray grease on all i can see as one day they may need to come off.
next...

Default update

ok,
ive removed the dust covers behind the rear discs and found a metal bracket is corroding that holds a loom plug to caliper etc..
so ive removed that , treated with rust killer and 2 coats hammerite..

its surprising how most metal parts rust on these cars a little dissapointing as a bit more thought from audi would have prevented this..

I've noticed this on my car also. After fitting all new front control arms a couple of years ago everything looked nice and clean. Two years later, all the nuts, bolts and other fittings look like they've been on there forever. I now paint all nuts and bolts before fitting.

This sounds familiar to me as well. All the salt/chemicals that are sprayed on the roads during the winter is really aggressive. I have a friend who tried to explain to me how bad the chemicals are to cars. Because I had believed it was mainly salt.
Not sure if you have the same stuff in the UK.

I tried rust killer after having gritted away most rust, and then one layer of hammerite. One layer was not enough. It has started to rust. Two layers might do the trick Good luck to you
