Jim having been over there driving around for 2 weeks myself very recently, everything is very laid back and I doubt very much you'd be able to do the former due to the amount of "wowwing" and "gasping" going on at the breathtaking scenery!

To answer your question properly, in order to do the whole journey from bottom to top of the "Wild Atlantic Way" which is 1590 miles we will need to do about 225 miles a day which judging by my recent journey is about 5 hours-ish of driving a day. There will be plenty of stops, agreed points where we finish for B&B every day (mostly in villages with facilities and pubs etc) and a detailed list of each days route and suggested stopping points for great views or attractions etc.

It is a HOLIDAY first, and a great driving experience second, to answer your question, but everyone will no doubt have to compromise on where we go and what we see a little if we are to be able to drive it all together as a group. I do intend for us all to have walkie talkies each to ensure we can keep in touch locally with each other and that should also help ensure that if anyone has an issue, everyone on the trip is aware of it

I could meet ye at the tarbert ferry and disappear around galway. Ye need a local toerag to keep all the other toerags away from all the lovely 8's!

I'm about to book my ferry from Pembroke on the Sunday. Price is currently £300 return. If anyone else wants to book at the same time I'll ring Irish Ferries and see if we can get some discount.

Interested in a bulk buy, but where are we in terms of an itinerary?
As it stands we have reserved the dates for Ireland and booked in to the Wales venue, but that's all.
No idea when/where we are crossing back...

I'll come back shortly - the Itinerary is drafted and we are currently looking at groups of B&B's or hotels en-route to make sure we can all stay in or close to the same place each evening for communal dining and socialising purposes!

Also are looking at finishing the route proper at the Giant's Causeway after 10 days (first day being the monday we start the Wild Atlantic Way, but there will then be differences in what people do after that point as they will cross back to UK from either Belfast, Dublin or Rosslare (for example Mike and Myself will probably drive south back to Rosslare and may well stop one night in Dublin on the way down so ferry sailings we are booking would be to suit that on the return leg.

and on the way out I would imagine we will be looking at everyone going on the outward leg that is travelling over
