Default Tyre Comparison

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm currently doing my head in trying to find various prices for a set of 275/35/20's.

I have a few makes/models in mind, and when phoning round or checking online obviously I ask for the same size.

Do folk always specify the load index and speed rating when getting prices too? Or do you just assume for this size for example that it would be a given 102Y for example?

I'd never thought to have confirmed these details, but noticed a few different options being thrown up online.

I also just noticed a lot of the tyres I've been looking at with XL after them on Openeo. Does this mean said tyres are available in XL and non XL in this size, or would they all be XL but just not have mentioned it before?

I think at that sidewall ratio, they tend to be XL rated.

Cheers.

I assume that would be the case with all makes then?

Whats the difference really? Which would the A8 require?

Assuming they are original wheels, type the reg. no. (or manually enter size) into :
https://www.audi.co.uk/owners-area/s...udi-tyres.html
and see what Audi recommend in terms of both tyre and load/speed rating.
At least you then know what are Audi-spec.
Check tyreleader's prices if you haven't already - they were cheapest for me a few meeks ago.

Ah, very useful. 99% of the ones listed on the Audi site were XL!

I checked tyreleader before and they weren't any cheaper. However I've just checked again and the Vredestein Vorti are £174 each, so £3 cheaper.

Cheers for the heads up.

Cant decide between them and Goodyear Assymetric 2's! I have the former in 19" on my car and they are great, and get fantastic reviews so am tempted just to stick with them.

The Audi site recommends 17" tyres for my 2002 S8 which was fitted with 20" wheels from new!

Well as i'm sure you know it's extra load, what the load difference actually is i don't know, but loads will be written on the sidewall. As for all manufactures probably not as PsYcHe says they’ll probably all be EX.

I recently purchased Pirelli P Zero's in that size from Openeo, £200 per corner, Tyreleader were slightly cheaper but delivery dates were taking weeks where Openeo were 5 days
