Default Missing text display for CD music

Hi everyone,

I very rarely use my CD multichnager because I have a dension iPod connection with all my music on it.

However, checking this weekend, I noticed the CD display only chows CD number, not CD title and each track just shows as track 01 etc.

I am sure they used to display CD name in text and each track name as text.

I have checked that CD text is enabled in car set up. Any suggestions what to check next. I have the latest version of MMI, 5570.

Thanks for any pointers.

Have you tried various CDs?

The CD player can only display track names if they were put on the CD in the first place.

You're looking at a 2007 feature really to be able to read CD naming tags....

Unless you had a replacement CD drive, I wouldn't expect it on your car.

AMI, sure, you'll get everything, but CD.... doubt it ?

Yes correct, across the 6 CDs in the changer, only those with the data will show the data.
For example Daft Punk Does, Greatest hits of NWA doesn’t!!!

My Feb 2005 MY shows the track names and CD name with the original player, but many prerecordered CDs do not come with CD tex but when I burn them with Toast and click the CD-TEXT check box they do.
