I've seen both handles, and the AV gear cause power drain. You need to divide and conquer this problem by eliminating one.

A cheap option might be to buy a couple more optical loops and loop out the nav, radio and amp.

Run the car. See if the power stabilises. If it does, whilst your door handles are faulty, they ain't the culprit. You can then reintroduce each one at at a time.

I have a car at the moment with a TV tuner that won't power down, and a radio module that was faulty causing the whole bus to break down every 30 to 60 secs.

If you've had water integers, there could easily be more than one culprit.

The other alternative is to disconnect all 4 door handles thus removing the short to ground errors and come from that angle instead..... I have another D3 at the mo that came with all the handles disconnected, presumably for that reason....

Booked mine today to have all four handles replaced, not a job I can do. Saving £1,200 off the price Audi quoted by using an independent

Wow is that really how much the dealer quoted? Parts alone would probably cost around £440 and for all 4 doors maybe half day labour if you know exactly how to do the job. Unscrewing the T15 screw to release the handle should be done very gently and tell the garage not to apply too much pressure while turning otherwise it will break the plastic tabs on the handle mount.

I'll post a picture later of what i mean.

Here are the pictures...

So this is the door handle mount

The plastic tabs are circled in red. They keep the screw and metal in place. once those snap off you'll need to install a new mount as it will be difficult to lock the handle in place.
