I've not tried them mate no. Have an aero style on the drivers side but from a transit van .

If you have the curved blade (oem) then you can change just the rubber off the blade. You don't have to buy the whole thing. Give Audi or TPS a call. I'm sure the rubbers were around 7 - 8 notes

I tried aero style blades last time on mine but I have to say that the Genuine Audi blades are individually curved and sized and wipe the windscreen sooo nicely since I fitted them on Oli's recommendation, that I would always go with the genuine ones now!

What do the genuine Audi ones cost? And can you pay by installments?

Were the ones you tried Bosch, Neil? Just wondering as I know there's a fair few ebay kits about to retrofit aero wipers.

Etka lists a set of Valeo blades with wear indicators for £25.50 (4b0 998 003) or separate drivers (4b0 955 425) for £16.79 and passenger (4a0 955 425b) for £13.88. Not sure why they offer 2 different options, as presume the individual blades aren't Valeo and will most likely be Bosch?

You can buy just the wiper rubbers (895 955 429a) for £8.10 if you know you've got the OE blades, but on mine I'm not sure I have an invoice for when they were last changed so would rather buy complete new ones.

The passenger side is curved drivers is straight. But the rubbers are universal as both are 20" (he says and then thinks about it)

I tried some blade on the passenger side don't remember what but it didn't park or wipe the screen anywhere near as well as the oe curved one and thats the reason i went back.

Rubbers are easy to change and if i remember Audi are not all that forwad in telling you that the rubbers can be changed, they'll let you buy the whole blade

I tried some bosch aero ones a couple of years ago and thats what I changed from but I dont know if the ones you're talking about are the same ones or some new version thats improved. They were ok but simply miles away from the proper audi ones which came in at about £24 or 26 or so from TPS, I'v got the reciept from the service back at home so I'll check later and update.

I have tried couple of aero blades, not Bosch but similar on several cars and seen them on friends cars, they do look good but was not doing very good job. drivers side is kind of OK but passenger side on the far corner they do not touch winscreen as they are too straight. I tried bending them myself, it helps a bit but not much. I have gone back to Valeo and they are fine.

I have some aftermarket non-branded aero blades, probably from wiperblades.co.uk or (dare I say it) eBay.
Both are 24" and straight and work fine.

The very end of the pasenger side does not sit on the windscreen when parked and misses wiping a tiny bit when operating, but that's where my tax disc holder is anyway so not a problem for driver visibility.

Just beware of buying OEM off ebay, a lot are old stock and the rubber blades split after a short while.
