Neil, you know what's coming next don't you?

Also applies to electric headrests.

Yes, my other rear electric headrest has jammed in the down position.
Exactly the same symptoms as the first one that failed at AITP so long ago.

I'll be looking for some help sometime to get the rear seat off and investigate/rectify. Not a one man job methinks.

2016 Volvo V40 T5 Cross Country (4WD) with ALL the toys including adaptive cruise etc. etc. Osmium Grey with Blonde/Charcoal leather interior. Polestar performance "optimisation". (A much rarer model than a D2 S8 by the way!) Oh, and a brand new engine at just under 30,000 miles on the factory one!
Finally: gone, but not forgotten.....
1998 D2 PF S8. AgateGrey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)
1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon, Auto-dim mirror, Leather, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer.
And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

Aha! that PROVES that it wasnt my fault then methinks!
All I did was press the button to see how it worked!!

You've clearly not heard about my legendary non-mechanical skills Andrew . . . . I'd be delighted to pop in when passing soon and help dis-assemble everything!!

Seriously though we will pick a mutually agreeable day and I'll pop through Dibley and see you there! Can we fix it? No No No No . . . Yes!

Just curious....what are you guys using to patch the plastic sleeve after cutting it short?

Both of my rear headrests stopped working but I hear the motors. So it's a problem with the sleeve. I've read of two methods of securing the sleeve again and was going to do a test in my car to see which one provides a more reliable fix. These are the link I'm using for reference:

To a degree it doesn't really matter as all it has to do is hold the cable in place so it can do it's work. It does need a small amount of mechanical strength though, and the engineer in me says the fuel hose/clamp fix is stronger than the shrink wrap/cable tie fix!
