I don't think I'll be swapping the speakers. ATM I'm trying to fit those 2 amps into the original location in the left side of the boot. The original bose amp is a DSP amp which is not really my cup of tea after a few weeks of listening to it.

It's a little tricky but should just about fit. I'll be wrapping the plywood in the same material as rest of the boot and keeping the original door so it will all look as much oem as possible. It will probably take a few attemps to get the measurements right too

If anyone still cares, some progress has been made. I just have to trace all the phono cables to head unit now which is a PITA to do it properly and remove all the old tv tuner/gps/cd changer loom. It still all looks messy on the back as its a prototpe/wip kind of a thing and I had to do unspeakable things to the left hand side boot liner (have a spare from forum sponsors)

If any of you attempts something similar in the future, you can use the front boot liner that covers rear seats as material to cover any sort of backing boards like mine as its flat and not held with adhesive, it will match the rest of the boot liner perfectly. Mine was only 9.99 from prestige.

I’m beginning to wonder if we could introduce some rating on the forum posts, something like film ratings . We clearly have some fabulously talented and knowledgeable members here who post stuff way beyond numpties like me! I applaud you guys - you’ve made long-term ‘8 ownership practical for many of us - but some of this needs an ‘expert only’ rating! I’m amazed at you’ll take on

There is already an option for rating the thread. It's at the top right of the first post on every page, as shown below, although to be honest, I've seldomly used it:
