Just to tie it this thread with Delboy's write-up, here is the link:

Yes the write up was spot on and had I not read that thread, I would have thought it was impossible to replace in situ.

Definitely should be in the common faults section in my opinion

It was TPS that my local mechanic guy got a quote from. I didn't check it, or Audi direct. Maybe the price has rocketed, maybe low stock, maybe something else?

I followed the DIY on here and did it myself rather than send it to someone who might want to take the engine out for it
Irritatingly I broke a rib at New Year (slipped on a wet dance floor) and I'm not really up to wriggling about trying to fix the car at the moment and i'm pretty good friends with a small garage around the corner from work! Technically Citroen Hydraulics Specialists, but very adaptable and decent. 2hrs @£45+vat and I supplied the pipe and had some fluid left from the top up!

I also got them to change the serpentine fan belt a month back and that was only an hour too (I had one from a few months back that i'd been meaning to sawp...)

If there's anyone in the world who knows about fixing leaks in inaccessible places...

Tell me about it! I still have nightmares about suspension leaks from my years of Citroen ownership!

HAHA. Yeah. Pleiades developed ways to repair the suspension spheres. Think they're used on more than just Citroen's these days.

Really can't rate them high enough for being awesome. Probably odd on a high end audi site, but they've helped me out of a few tight spots with various vehicles.
