Default Replacing fan blower motor

OK, my fan blower has been on the blink for a while now. Was manageable in summer, just roll the windows down. However now it's getting coller I need it functional for de-misting. Having read a few threads it certainly seems as though the blower motor itself is the culprit - so I picked up a replacement unit from a non solar roof D2 from the good folks at A8 parts (of course). Got the plenum cover off no problems, but getting the fan cowl off, rather the screws tucked up the back, is proving a real bugger.... stubby screwdriver is too long, phillips bit in ratchet is also too long and not enough purchase. Getting very close to just dremelling the heads off the things and replacing with allen headed or something... Any tips?
