Default VCDS help with AC radiator fan control?

Dear All,

Thanks again for this great forum.

I am having the following fault showing up on VCDS HEX net.

I recently noticed the P0480 Engine cooling fan 1 malfunction code on my VCDS Hex scan for HVAC system.
This seems logical since the AC is also bit warmer when the car is not moving in traffic, so this can evidence missing the fan to cool the condenser.

On the weekend I tried the engine output tests for the first time (nervously) and both the fan 1 and fan 2 operate when I switch these on via the engine output tests - excellent.

When I use the HVAC Convenience systems AC output tests for activating cooling fan the cooling fan is not working and the fan stays off. In the data fields it states N/A for all.

Please suggest what I will need to check since both fans actually operate based on engine ECU control but not by HVAC system control.

Apoligies if this issue is challenging, trying my luck hoping someone will know...

Thanks again for your help thus far on this wonderfully complicated creature

Cheers,

Stephen
