Default Is my car is self-aware?

Recently, my car has developed a strange habit. I think it my be trying to kill me.

If I am sitting the drivers seat with the ignition on, not necessarily with the engine running, and someone opens the passenger door...the drivers electric seat base and backrest moves forwards on their own accord to the full length of their travel in a 'crushing' movement.

Is this a HAL 9000 moment? Any thoughts?

Strange.. definitely.

Almost sounds like the doors are wired wrong to the memory.

Do you have memory seats? Have you checked that your preferred seat position is attached to the key you use to open the car?

I'm not sure how the seat memory gets its trigger to move thr driver's seat, I thought it was only the driver's door that triggered it, but not 100% sure.

One option is to set the seat the way you like it, then press the big red button in the seat memory buttons to turn the seat off.
