That seems strange, what's the difference and do you have any idea why?

2003 D2 FL S8. Irish Green Pearl/Beige. Solar sunroof, auto-dim mirrors, electric rear seat functions, ski hatch retrofit; extended leather. Aftermarket DVB-T, reversing camera and full XCarlink (Bluetooth etc.).
2016 Volvo V40 T5 Cross Country (4WD) with ALL the toys including adaptive cruise etc. etc. Osmium Grey with Blonde/Charcoal leather interior. Polestar performance "optimisation". (A much rarer model than a D2 S8 by the way!) Oh, and a brand new engine at just under 30,000 miles on the factory one!
Finally: gone, but not forgotten.....
1998 D2 PF S8. AgateGrey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)
1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon, Auto-dim mirror, Leather, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer.
And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

At least with the "small fire" you simultaneously heated all 6 bolts on the driveshaft flange

The bolts for the front are in direct contact with the subframe mounts and so have a larger washer to spread the load. The rears go through the large bracing plates and so have a smaller washer as the plate spreads the load.

Crumbs that's a serious amount of bodging. Was the PO doing the work themselves or was it done by a trader? I think you mentioned in another thread. At least it's all fixable so far and makes me realise how fortunate I am to have a well maintained one (just have to keep it that way!).

There is a silver lining to all this, which is that this is my car which I bought for scrap money, and not one of your cars which you had thought was being maintained properly! I would not want to have had this conversation with any of you guys!
I'd be ashamed to have brought you a car to you in this state - though I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall to hear some of your expletives whilst you were doing this

+ I prefer the stills to the video - more to see and time to dwell on the detail than in a video clip.

Kersteman Garage in Bristol, which if you google Streetview it appears to literally be a lockup-garage. Ironically, I have every receipt from when the car was 1 year old, so I can accurately date all the bodges and hacks and know how much it cost to do the damage

Its a tad ironic and a real shame that they weren't as careful doing the jobs themselves as they were at keeping very accurate records of what they did
