I Have TPMS sensors coming into stock as they are really common faults with A8s on Customers cars they are £136 for a full set " Trade price" if anyone needs any let me know as i Bulk order them!

As for the MMI Mechanism We do fix them in house, and are supplied with Bronze Gears to replace the plastic items that tend to break if you DIY it your self the kit is IIRC under £40 on eBay

other than that if you get stuck im happy to help

Oh PS the fingerprint Scanner often goes into component protection for No reason what so ever so id check with VCDS you may find that a trip to the dealers to remove it will see it all working as it should,

Soft close motors are an easy Swap ! it takes us no more than 1hr to do a full set of them, the lock is the hard part to change as you have to disassemble the door.. " Ive done a few retro fits for customers and i try to stay away from them" if you source a Motor From A8 parts its an easy change usually the board breaks down inside the motor and it tries to pull closed when the door is open rather than when its closed, if you hear it making a noise when you open the door and nothing when you close the door then it will be the motor.

Door card off and 3x 8mm bolts that hold it on

Do you mean pressing the pad doesn't fire up the engine, or that the pad itself won't read your fingerprint?

Default Winter wheels update

Hi there,

I have a 2006 v10 S8 with the original 20" wheels ( see signature) and steel brakes. My spare as provided by Audi is an 18" fat five pattern with a full size tyre.

I have a set of 18" rep pattern winter wheels which just clear my steel discs and calipers. They are 7.5" width with 235 50 18 tyres.

So if you want winter types, you can go 18" which are significantly cheaper than 19" tyre son. However, if your original wheels are 19" then swapping types is cheaper than new wheels and tyre said.

Cheers

Yeah, it's normally set to the default which is in the owners handbook. If that doesn't work, try 1234.

Well, brand new, soft close handle, painted in Daytona Grey...£1.84 from a German main dealer on eBay.de

Marvellous!

Now I need to see if there are any new soft close motors, as buying 2nd hand gives no guarantees.

Got to love a deal.
