Manifold flaps
Hello all
Please have a look at the attached image I took a moment ago whilst fettling. Looks potentially serious to me. I have no idea how long this has been like this, there is no noticeable change when driving, but looks like something has sheared internally. After driving one airbox was hot to touch and the other noticably cooler, a symptom of a one sided issue? Anyone have any ideas and/or experienced this before?

Just to add to my original post, having just read every thread on the manifold flaps it would appear that this could be an opportune moment to delete rather than repair them.
It would appear that as one of the control arms has detached I am only getting half function out of them!?

I never got an answer to repairing them as most people seem to prefer to delete them. I did notice a few repair kits available on eBay but none for our engines.
I vaguely recall one tuning company offering a repair for £495 + VAT but I didn't pursue it, seeing as it was so close to the price of a new manifold. Best of luck with it, whatever you decide. |
