Preventative Water Pump Change?
My car is getting some engine work at the moment, including an aux belt change and carbon clean. Depending on what my warranty people say, the engine may even be coming out to fix a tapping that is likely to be a timing chain tensioner. If that happens, the chains and tensioners will all be changed.
While the engine is out, I'm going to have the power steering pump replaced. It's not gone but I've always been suspicious of it about to go since I bought the car.
Should I get the water pump replaced too?
Is there anything else I should be replacing? Are there any perishable rubber hoses at the back of the engine?
