Wheel balancing, on car, D2
Hi,
I am researching preparing my 3.7 for the road. Is on car wheel balancing worth doing? Robert

always had mine done off the car, only issue I have had with mine was the 20" wheels got out of true and no amount of balancing would eliminate the wobble I got. Had the wheels straightened and its been like a different car
 why do you think on car might be better?

Never had that done on mine and never had any balancing problems at all

2002 Final Edition S8. Ebony black with Silver Grey leather and myrtle wood trim. Current mods: solar sun roof, 20mm rear spacers, 15 mm on front, red brembo callipers, 6k headlights, rear view camera, engine remap, alloy dash dial rings, alloy navi rings, tt/phaeton pedal upgrade, (and custom matching foot rest) dension ipod interface & parrot hands free kit (both fully hidden), av input, tv in motion switched thro' PF switch in blanking plug right of steering column, Audi 'quattro' sill covers, repositioned centre console switches, radio clock, .Planned mods: auto-dimming rear view mirror, dash cam (as steamship's), fit the ski hatch, refit philips drl's (or maybe not - nope, definitely not - horrible botch!).

I can only see that hiding potential issues in the hubs, bearings and mounting plates, so if you took the wheel off and put in on in a different position relative to the hub, then you could make things worse.

Hi,
We used forum a Siera Cosworth 4 X 4 and had that balanced on car. No issues now, trying to think ahead. I will take the car for tracking checking and wheels balancing. On car is an option. I know myself too: when I start running the car I will find it really difficult to book her into a garage until the next MOT... Robert
