Default wheel width

summer is here and wanted to upgrade alloys soon. Can you put wider alloys at rear or is that gonna mess the drive? Also whats the max safest width I can put on my 8? also what is the best offset for our cars?

I have a staggered offset set of 20" BBS alloys on mine which are 11" on the rear and 9.5 on the front. If I knew how to post photos on this forum I could show how they look but I'm crap so I can't. The correct offset is most important to avoid any clearance issues. I've been running this setup for nearly 2 years apart from over winter with no problems at all. Hope this helps

Ha thanks, it gets a lot of looks and comments. No rubbing issues at all, I used lowering links to drop it about 35mm. The discs aren't a problem but the size of the front calliper can be, I used 10mm spacers on the front to get the look I wanted and clear the calliper. There's still quite a bit of space around the rears and I tow my caravan with this set up with no issues. Can't remember the exact offset but I'm sure I've made a note somewhere so I will get back to you.

They're genuine BBS LM alloys, I bought them used and had them recut and painted. They cost a small fortune new but you can buy very good replica sets if you look around.
