I have the same problems as you guys. 2 screws broken and stuck in there.

I had an identical problem with broken off head of the license plate screw.

So i drilled out the nut that is pressed on to the body and bought some rubber nuts and installed those instead.

Now, if the screws get stuck again i can just drill of the head, remove the whole rubber nut and replace with a new one with no problem.

Im thinking of doing this to the glass from the license plate light.

Just drill out a bigger hole for the rubber nut and install with new screw

PS! Its a little more work but sounds easy though.

Good idea, I actually think I have some of those lying around, you usually buy them as a matching bolt/fixing pair.
Same sort of idea as I referred to above:

Generally known as rubber nuts or well nuts.

You obviously have to choose the correct type for the combined thickness of the fixing/fitting/backing and screw thread.

Yeah.. Did some googling and found a rubber nut that was 10mm thick so that should work.. M2 screw but the head is quite big so going to see if i can find some other screws with smaller head.

I have now used these to secure my license plate on the tail gate and my ECU as both of the chassie screws where broken off some how

Now they are secured pretty damm good

Default Boot lid handle Replacement

A common issue, the number plate light lens screws got firmly wedged and couldn't be removed. Needed to drill them out and I replaced the handle unit. However, the one that i bought wasn't for a model with a reversing camera...so off again to the dealer for another one, and to be sprayed also...

So, i have a spare boot lid handle (for non-camera) for sale if anybody is interested....!!!
