Default drivers side seat switch issue

can i confirm my thoughts.
drivers seat does not come forward when i push the seat adjustment switch forward.
however the seat comes forward if the memory button i pressed.so i know the motor is ok.
i presume that it must be the switch.
1) will the switch need replacing?
2) easy job?( prefer no two take the seat out)
cheers raj

Well, I've had one 8 for a short while where switch wasn't the issue, it was the ECU which is about £80, easy to change but it will throw CP which is £60 on top, but easy to change.
Get a ratchet with a spline bit, can't remember what size, undo all 4 bolts on each seat which is really easy, tilt them back to gain access to ECUs, swap them over (passenger/driver) and see if it goes forward using switch, if it does then it is the ECU , if it doesn't then switch it is.
I've never changed a switch on them, but can't see it being a big job.
