SilverS8, the procedure will open the boot regardless of lock position since you directly access the tension rod that drivers the latch.

Nope, sorry. It's all back together again with a blanking grommet in each of the 2 holes and the number plate and carrier re-fitted. I dropped the smaller grommet down between the 2 panels, as fitting it was quite fiddly, and had to go out and get another one. So I'm not planning to mess about with it all unless I have too!

Planned mods: auto-dimming rear view mirror, dash cam (as steamship's), fit the ski hatch, refit philips drl's (or maybe not - nope, definitely not - horrible botch!).
