The Baikal X10 looks pretty interesting, especially since Bitmain are so difficult to deal with. I see the L3+ is available, but BCH only again

Group buy on a few X10s?

They were $1399 + $135 shipping and I was going to try 1 but they sold out while I was waiting response from Baikal about their bank fees so that I know how much to send that I do not end up paying not enough.

Also the algorithms they run are fairly small networks so if a lot of these miners go online difficulty will increase and payout go down. Look at what happened to D3 and X11 algorithm. In July it would have earned 10k/month, now only £105/ month with £85/month running costs. No mention what the other 2 algorithms they will be adding.

L3+ and S9 are probably the safest bet for now because Bitcoin network is so big, something like equivalent to 850k S9s that it will be hard to make big impact in short time with new miners when they become available. And while Litecoin is not that big it's still something like 700k L3+s and L3+ is lower power consumption 800W (or 1000W if you overclock it +25%). There are other coins on both SHA256 and Scrypt so overall network size is harder to judge. Quark and Qubit is even harder to estimate as the Quark coin network is only 2-4 of Giant X10 but the quark algorithm on nice hash is the same as 320 of x10s, qubit on nicehash is same as 13 of x10s And the other 2 Groestl and skein are just a part of X11 that they decided to offer to run as single algorithm instead of all 11, I don't even if or what is using them on it's own anyway. The 2 new algoritms they mention could be just another 2 of 11 algorithms from X11 on their own.

I think it's probably best I missed out on it but will check out again end of December/ early January to see if I missed opportunity or dodged the bullet.

It's not so bad if you're prepared and ready with some BCH whenever a new batch becomes available.

If you don't want the hassle/risk of using an exchange to get BCH, you can use a service like ShapeShift to quickly convert what you need (from BTC, or whatever you have). You'll just need a BCH wallet. There's a few extra steps and fees, but it's still cheaper and easier than an international bank transfer.

Have a look at Revolut - It's a phone app with a card. Free to get hold of. It's great for FREE international transfers and also gives the bank rate on exchange. I buy German tickets in EU and it's the exact amount as they are irritatingly fussy if you underpay anything and you have to collect rather than them send the tickets which is a royal pain. Also bought a PJ from Ireland that way. Handy for traveling though does limit the amount of cash you can withdraw, but honestly well recomended for getting round these sort of issues

How is the Vega running at the moment? Nicehash reports only £1 a day after electricity, but it also only shows it doing 1100H/s.

It's not as stable as I would like it to be but it's running together with 2x RX480 cards which were not stable when running together on another rig with the rest of RX cards so it might be them affecting overall stability. I do not have spare motherboard to run Vega on it's own and it would not be very efficient to run single card on the motherboard on.

As far as the profitability goes it's gone down now. I am running it at 1700H/s without the display connected at it works out about £3 per day minus £0.60 in electricity. With a display connected and on it does 1900-2000H/s .

Some GPU settings only take affect with a monitor attached, especially with AMD cards.

Ainars, have you tried using a monitor emulator? I have a few of these that I use with AMD cards:
