Ainars what motherboard / CPU do you have in your AMD rig please? I tried the Vega on a couple of boards with Windows 7 and they both bluescreen trying to load the driver. Put 10 on one of them and it did exactly the same. They all run the GTX960 just fine. I've not tried 8 since the blockchain driver is either 7 or 10.

I'm wondering now if my 'spare' kit is just too old for cards like this The first one I tried them in is a 1st Gen i7 though, which is still a decent machine.

The main AMD rig has this one https://www.asrock.com/MB/Intel/H110...BTC+/index.asp
Vega with 2x RX480 cards are on this one https://www.asrock.com/MB/Intel/Z270%20Pro4/index.asp

I could not get it to run on HP Miroserver gen8 https://www.serversdirect.co.uk/p/10...x-non-hotplug-

I have not tried Vega on my old PC but all the other cards have run fine on it are now running 2x GTX1080Ti on this motherboard https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard...DS3P-rev-21#ov

Vert helpful thanks I have a Gigabyte P35 which runs the GTX960 just fine, but bluescreens with the Vega. I think a more modern chipset is probably what I need then.

I was looking at that Asrock - what do you think of it?

Which one?

H110 Pro BTC+ is probably a bit of overkill with 13 PCI-e slots as it gets more complicated with more cards and more issues especially with AMD cards and Windows, nVidia and Linux might be OK. Also a lot of power needed for 13 cards.
Z270 Pro4 I like, 5 PCI-e slots, 3x M.2 slots for WiFi module, SSD and I think you can use adopter from M.2 to PCI-e 1x slot as well so potentially could run 6-7 video cards off it.

I've got a few ASRock boards. Never had a problem with any of them. One of my 1080Ti rigs is using an ASRock H81 Pro BTC R2.0. Good motherboard and it has 6 PCIe slots, though I only usually run 4 or 5 cards per rig now.

Asrock H110 on the way Unlikely I'll try and run 13 cards on it tbh, but it looks like the best mining-specific board on the market at the moment. The Biostar ones claim to be for mining, but the blurb on their web site doesn't say anything about it whereas Asrock give a lot of detail and even a setup video.

Those Baikal X10's look pretty damn good atm

Been checking https://www.baikalminer.com/product09.php but always sold out!

However....

https://asicminermarket.com/product/...-miner-2batch/

Though at a fair price hike to the origional price....

That is tempting. Even at that price is should pay for itself in a little over 2 months, as long as profitability remains high.

I am not sure about Baikal, after a large bump in earnings about a month ago it has been declining steadily, as more of them go online the earnings will drop more.

My D3 that had estimated shipping date 21st -30 November has not shipped yet but L3+ with estimated shipping date 11th-20th December is already on it's way.

Edit: Spoke too soon, D3 has shipped now as well

I've just had shipping confirmation of my new L3+ this morning too. Now I just need to find somewhere to put it before it arrives!
