Emergency help required
Sergey is stuck in Germany and can't open the boot (D2). The DIS shows that the boot is open, but it's not! He can hear the vacuum pump going but the boot doesn't open. And the key won't open it either. And all his luggage is in the boot!
Any ideas?

Not sure but I'm sure I've read a thread of someone getting access that way. Luggage may well interfere.
Also, with a FL you can, I think, cut through the ski hatch space without removing the back seat, if it's not already installed. Still some thin bits of Alu to cut to free the blanking plate, but very little, and some soundproof material to cut away.

I cant really see anyway this can be done (even after looking at the Service Manual) - especially if the boot is full of luggage.

Take the numberplate off and cut through I guess. New boot lid in the end probably.
The numberplate mount is plastic and retained by 5 self-tapping screws (3 top, 2 bottom) so should probably snap off with enough force to reveal the metal sheet behind.

There's a microswitch in the latch mechanism that is moved by a little plastic component. That may have broken (mine did once) and jammed the latch.
Sometimes pressing down hard on the boot lid rear will move the mechanism enough that the remote or key will work, while still pressing hard.

If the DIS is showing that boot is open maybe there is a piece of luggage stuck between boot and body putting too much pressure on the lock so that it does not unlock or open. Have somebody sit on boot to put downward pressure, try locking, unlocking car again and keep the pressure on when pressing open button. If that does not help and boot is full of luggage then I think any way in will be destructive either by smashing light or cutting some metal.
And just to cover basics if he is used to only use remote and not sure about manual operation it is turn key anti-clockwise to unlock then push the cylinder in to open.
