Default Autonomous A8L takes Daniel Brühl to a film festival.

Looks like the tech in the Autonomous RS7 has found its way into the A8 for a publicity stunt.

Hmm…that's amusing, and thanks for sharing, but it's not impressive at all really. In fact, it appears to be no more than a publicity stunt (as you pointed out) to cover the fact that they can't produce a product in this class that is anywhere near doing this for real.

The key part of the article on this is the following:

"Prior to the event, Audi created a detailed map of the route the A8 L W12 would take and then the journey began, with the car using its cameras, sensors and radars to compare architectural objects with those present on the map. To ensure the ride was as smooth as possible, the car was programmed to take corners slowly while accelerating and braking cautiously, just like a real chauffeur"

So smoke and mirrors really, which is what I'd expect from VAG at the moment, sadly.

Isn't the D5 supposed to be self piloted up to 40mph
