Right headlight range control not working
Noticed today that the right headlight didn't move when doing the level check. Got VCDS out and the car is all clear, no errors anywhere. Did the output test and only the left headlight moved between the positions. Initial thinking is it must be a mechanical problem. I'm guessing this will be an MOT failure if the tester notices

Tester probably won't notice but it's unusual for it not to flag a fault if it won't go through the range of movement test. Might be a broken link between motor and lamp, but if so I'd expect the beam on the right to be jigging about a lot when driving....
Have had a range motor fail on an old Passat and it was easy enough to swap

Oh well. Nothing I can do until I have the front bumper off and get the headlight out to check it over, except listen with a stethoscope if I can hear the range motor working.

If there's no error I would expect that the motor/servo is moving but become broken detatched. Maybe someone can turn on the ignition while you put your ear on the headlamp and listen for a whirr.
