Exclamation Help Re coding Abs module

Hi

I fit a new Abs module on the D3 4.2 LWB
The problem has been solved but it now has a massive red brake warning ..

Vag com said abs unit incorrectly coded.

So I followed the procedure and log in ect but it wont accept the new coding it says coding rejected can any one give me an idea why it is doing this please ?

Thank you

I think there's a procedure somewhere out there to do an adaptation before it can be coded.

Could you post the sticker which is in the boot by your spare wheel with all the codes. Base on that I will do my very best to get the right code and full procedure for you ASAP considering I'm very busy today. I've done it before successfully on a 4.2TDi D3.

This is the build..

But my main problem is the abs module is off an A8 W12 and I used the W12 info to log in .. also loged in to basic setting 40168

And it still said coding rejected to re code it for the 4.2 ?

Hi David
Just very quickly as it's mental on my end.
Just to clarify

You've installed a ABS module from W12??
What info you have used from W12?? Coding is a combination of brake calipers etc on the car you fitting it (info on the sticker from your current car not donor), therefore you can't use the W12 coding as this has different components installed. As far as I'm aware. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Is a W12 module compatible with 4.2 at all?? This one I'm not sure.
And to clarify, yours is 4.2 petrol ??

Hi yes the W12 module is identical to the 4.2 its the coding that is different

The log in I used for the W12 module is 06137

Long wheel base
18" 1LJ
12 cyl
Auto

And the new coding needs to be

0007597 and that is

Long wheel base
17" 1LL
6/8CYL W/O BREMBO
AUTOMATIC

Hello mate

My apologies, I completely forgot. That day I did mentioned that I'm busy as hell, but yesterday I just forgot as I've had all evening to my self so I was in shock.

I'm doing it as we speak.

OK, this is my understanding.

(you did follow the whole procedure as per Ross-Tech clip just in case??)

I wouldn't use the login for the donor car, but current car.

Have you tried this login:

06297

And then coding is correct:

0007597

It would not let me log in using my current car log in ? It seems to only accept the log in of the donor car ? ....
