Default Removing Viscous Fan

...and replacing with an electric one can give a M3 up to 15 BHP extra in power apparently.

I replaced a viscous with a Kenlowe quite a few years ago. It worked fine and came with its own thermo so that it only worked when needed. The blurb tells you that you gain 1 or 2 bhp, but. I only did it because it was cheaper than replacing the viscous. If yours is working OK is it worth the bother?

I have replaced the fan on the projekt as it needed to be done and it was about the same price as a new viscous from Audi. big job though as the right sized fan requires modification to the shroud. now set up to come on with the AC fan.
rarely hear it unless sat in traffic.
suprised if it were anymore than a couple of horsepower though.
