Bumping an older thread because I love the wide-body. How much was it widened compared to stock? Also, any idea on the procedure?

Hi there,
Its about 2in either side over stock. The method was cut and shut with about 3in on each arch cut out and then filled with glass and resin. Ally welding was not available. Still sat in storage waiting for me to get back to it!

Holy thread resurrection Batman!
Progress is glacial at the moment. Life has this unnerving way of getting in the way! It's had more work over the intervening period but there should be a spurt in development when I've finished fitting our new kitchen, building a garden, refurbishing a flat for renting, putting a new roof on a garage, installing an additional toilet, building storage, a large bookcase and fitting a heat recovery and ventilation system in our loft! . But on the seventh day.............

Sorry. I'm new to the D2 cars and looking to learn as much as I can. Yeah I hear you about life getting busy and getting in the way on projects. A project car that I started ended up sitting idle for 8 years and ended up selling it unfinished. Do you still have the car at least?
