Calling all petrol heads

Ok more details will follow shortly but this is just to get it out there.

I have a friend that is the Motor Mechanics Manager at a charity called Wings South West. The charity is for giving young people a future and a hope. They have taken on a few projects to date including a VW Jetta Monster Truck a few buggies and garden tractor.

I’m plugging this for them as I really believe that they are dong a fantastic job, giving these young people something to focus on, get their hands dirty, building and then driving these machines.

The new project is a GKD sports car. It has a 3 series BMW as a donor car so engine, gearbox and steering come from that. The car will be fully SVA’d and road legal when finished.

It’s also going to be featured in Kit car magazine with a run of photo’s of the build and for that reason I wasn’t allowed to take any of it, but I can say it looks like a lot of fun.

It has the 1.8 BMW engine and will weigh about 700 kg’s when finished.

The car is being raffled off at the Exeter Kitcar Show at Westpoint 21 / 22nd November ticket are £5 each and all proceeds will go straight to the charity so future projects can be undertaken.
