Default Beeping from the boot?

My A8 is now parked up since I bought the S8 awaiting a lucky buyer, but every weekend I fire her up and take her around the drive to make sure everything is running properly.

But when I turn on the ignition I can hear a beep beep beep from (apparently) the boot area which stops after a couple of seconds.

Anyone know what that is?

The only beep i get from the boot is the alarm horn that beeps once when i lock the doors. There is a thread on here somewhere about replacing it, as it has it's own battery i think.

From memory I think its the battery going flat in the alarm siren... Happens if the car is parked up for a while, get it out for a drive a touch more often and she should right herself I think

Thanks - not too much to worry about then.

It's not insured right now, so it just goes around and around my circular drive.

Anyone know of any good insurance deals for multiple cars (3 or maybe soon 4) with limited mileage on one or two? I mean, you can only drive one at once, so why do we have to pay so much for a third car?

I had similar beeping from the alarm in the boot a year or so ago when the car hadn't been used much and it was very cold. As had been suggested after a bit more use it stopped and it hasn't reoccured since.

The batteries do eventually die. Problem is you cannot get hold of replacements.
I removed the alarm unit and opened it up ready to source some replacements - no luck though.
I know other peeps have butchered the inside of the unit to fit different ones though.

Good luck

Not too sure about Admiral yet, I went with them as I didnt have any no claim (from being on company cars with a few claims) and they were cheapest, (mind you I am ancient as well so that helps) however I was kept waiting a long time on the twice I tried to phone customer services, at premium rates too, and I was charged £18 for a new certificate when I notified them about changing my reg. Suppose thats why they are so cheap to start with I guess, just have to hope I dont have to claim. As my old Granny used to say "you get what you pay for"

Maybe best trying to just shop around to see if you could get a policy where you only want to do a few miles a month. BTW what would happen if it gets stolen or broken into at the moment?

cheers
