Default How to wire into blank point on the fuse holder

I am trying to wire in rear blind in to my a8.

Currently I have just tapped a supply off a couple of wires behind the fuse holder. This does the job i need, however I was wondering can anyone explain how the fuse holder on the driver side works....and how do you go about using a blank point in the fuse holder.....

Your help will be much appreciated....

You need 2 of these females per empty fuse slot. Wire them up push them into the back of the fuse holder and plug in your blade fuse.

Default empty fuse slot

cool thats seems straightforward enough..
final question....how do i know if a an empty slot is live with ignition on or off....

am I right in thinking that the individual blocks (red/yellow/..etc) are either live with the ignition on or off.....

So if i want to know if a particular free slot is live with the just the ignition on is to put the multimeter in to the free slot with the ignition on....

thanks by the way the above information is really useful

If a slot has no fuse then there will probably be no live in the slot so you need to find out where you can wire in either a switched or permanent live and wire it to the slot.

The colour coding is just for identification purposes only. Red bank # 1 etc...
