Drool worthy spec on this D3, but we've come to expect nothing less from Ian.
The D4 is a massive step up in quality/refienment/quietness and smoothness compared to the D3, I do loads of miles in the D4 and drove a FL D3 recently. It really shows how far the D4 has come as the D3 felt slightly dated and there was a big big difference in build quality, and we all know the D3 has superb build. Quote:

It'd need to be a special D4 to get me out of my 4.2Tdi... I keep looking at a remap, but have once more spent the remap money on other stuff.

I tend to alternate between something a little bonkers, and something quite sensible.
I'm due something a little bonkers really, and I do get bored easily. I always enjoy trying new things, but just dont want to let this go. My heart says change it for something a little nuts. My head says its the most sensible, yet well specced car I've ever owned and truely isnt easily replaced...... My head also says that a bonkers sporty number will be cheaper in winter so maybe theres my answer.....

Easy then, keep this for boring trips and have something fun you don't need to do big miles in for the daily grind
 appreciate that's not an easy solution as it's yet more cars on the drive, more fixed running costs and the potential for 1 car to be underused as it's never the 'first choice' for any trip!

tres swish. I had a wood wheel in my Alfa 156, looked great but the metal splitting the rim into front and back used to reach about a millionty twelve degrees sat in the sunshine, which caused a small amount of rude words on more than one occasion.

Fiat Tipo diseasel econobox with all the buttons and none of the soul that now does all the heavy lifting. Ford Capri Laser: noisy, slow, thirsty, bouncy, no buttons but it always sounds like it’s REALLY trying and I can’t help but chuckle when it parps and boings along. And people of a certain age stare at it with a wistful look in their eyes that clearly says…I had one of them. And I sold it because of the kids
