Default If Money Were No Object...

What would we treat our '8s to? For me it would be:

A set of final editions alloys wrapped in some Michelin Pilot Sport tyres.
A 6.0 W12 Engine with an added supercharger from someone like MTM.
Manual gearbox conversion
Some type of Bang & Olufsen sound upgrade
Solar Roof
Alcantra headlining in black all along the roof and parcel shelf, door pillars. (I would still keep the rest of the car Beige, my 335D has this combo and it looks stunning)
Dark Myrtle wood
Heated front windscreen
Milltek Exhuast
A blue colour respray I have seen on some E30 BMWs, it looks amazing and would really suit the '8.
Private plate 'S8'
A full detail every month!

EDIT: A Nice RS 2 avant in Blue to keep it company ! (Sorry for the rip off Entwisi haha)
So what would we all have?

Strip to bare shell. Convert to two door, fit facelift front bits, flare arches slightly and spray black. Throw interior into skip. Fit wrc spec. multi point roll cage and various braces and struts as the whim takes me. Find a W12 lump and manual gearbox. Supercharge. Have interior done in a nice alacantra to cover the metal and sound proofing bits. Fit 2.8 badges. Hunt porkers on track days.

Full restoration to 'as new' condition.

Then keep her to one side.

Buy a Final Edition S8, add a supercharger to the existing engine or................rip it out and replace it with a newer v8 (RS6+?) and drop mahooosive turbos into the mix................. nitrous, air, custom quad zorst, huuuuuge brakes, custom rims, top spec tiptronic, MMI 3 electronics, B&O audio (tested in the D2 doncha know ), tinted windows, lairy interior. Be happy with that

Oh, maybe add a squirt of nitrous to just give her a little more oomph

A pair of panniers for my bicycle lugagge rack so I can carry more library books. I could then have a mobile library.

For my A8, probably not to much (replace engine with a V10 unit from a Lambo or A6, but with Nitro for those special moments when 500+bhp just isn't enough - get it bagged with some tasteful 20+ rims, full audio ripout - not sure whose though - with full surround sound, DVD - front and back - full respray in black, 2 inch chop of the roof, with suicide doors for the rear passengers, replace all the faux wood with something alot darker) - like the car as it is

I really, really like this idea....

We'll donate some 2.8 badges to the cause, if anyone wants to take on the rest of the project

I'm inspired by the racing broadspeed v12 xj6 coupe from my childhood.

The road car illustrates nicely what I have in mind for an '8. In black of course.

Ok, so money no object.... (and fuel a plenty)

The garage would need to have:

Unmolested Lotus Carlton, just because they were cool

Overfinch Range Rover, just because they're so damned over the top

Ebony black Final Edition D2 S8, half black/tan interior, ABT supercharged with RS6 brakes. No need to fiddle with anything else, the rest is perfect.

Peugeot 205 1.9 GTI - Because I've never had one, and by all accounts they handled like the muts

Subaru Impreza RB5 Wr sport - Because i used to own one, it was brilliant and I have total respect for the late Richard Burns who it was built after

Aston Martin Vantage - Because its big, british has two superchargers and chucks out over 500BHP

I've not listed any soot chuckers, but I have the utmost respect for the power of derv, and the torque - BUT - you can't deny that petrol smells so much better when it goes into the tank, when it comes out of the exhaust, and the engine notes are far, far more desirable....
