Audi A8 3.0 TDI 22 times over the Euro6 limit

But, the article says other manufacturers are too, BMW X3 as an example.

I had my 3.0L TDI A8 MOT'd a few weeks ago. It was hooked up to the emissions machine and nothing registered so another piece of equipment was plugged into the accessory socket inside the car, this is supposed to pick up a reading from the engine to prove it's being revved, so I can only assume it works on variable voltages as the revs go up and down. After a further 5 minutes of faffing around the tester told me he still couldn't get a reading and decided that all must be good and passed it...

Clean...dirty...who knows

VW manipulated diesel emissions tests in Europe, says German minister

Not just a US issue and it's been known about since last year:

My place did something similar with my 8 when it was being MOT'd. Faffed about with one of them revving it and then manually overided something so it passed?!

No doubt the Ministry of Transport will devise a new test that will ultimately fail all the cars that they previously couldn't get readings from

Always suspicious of my MOTs.. pretty sure both my 4.2TDi and the X5 (3.0 TDi) always came back with suspiciously low readings, even after the A8 was de-DPFd Recent 'revelations' may explain it, but I'm still surprised that no one spotted it before now.

Now would be the perfect time for other manufacturers to capitalise from VAG's naughtiness and make a big deal about how they are honest and how truly economical their engines are, but nothing.

Hmmm... Who will be next?
