I had found this as well

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2214148074...84.m1423.l2649

but like the other listing, it does not specifically say it will work for the 8J0919148B TV unit - but I assume it will!

The two fakra antenna connector housings have been bought and are in the box with the tuner!

I think I have my head around the 32 pin connector! It is the connector that goes into the RSN-E unit that needs changed rather than the connector that goes into the back of the tuner! I have got that right now - haven't I?!

RCA adaptor should work.

Yep, you now understand the 32pin adaptor story.

It'll be more clear when you look at actual situation.

What's the consensus on what dbv tv to go for ? There's such price gaps for very similar spec and look products. Can anyone recommend what to go for? I'd ideally like something with either ad or usb to play music on too

The XCarlink clips into a supplied bracket which neatly fits on the left side, giving access to the SD card slot (and USB if needed).
Resurrecting this from 3 years ago! Gave up on TV due to aerial/reception issues and prioritising a reversing camera.
Having now installed the reversing camera the video interface is (as noted in another thread) buried deep inside the dash, not far from the suggestion above on the drivers side.

The XCarlink (now fully tested) is going back in the cubby, as will the Bluetooth unit - it has a button I need occasional access to.
An additional device is a small switch to select TV or camera input, that will go somewhere convenient in the cubby.

But the TV tuner will probably disappear behind the trim as I only need to see the remote eye. That may end up somewhere suitable for all passengers to use with the IR remote control.

I've bought a different/better DVB-T unit with twin diversity tuners and a pair of amplified aerials included, just can't decide where to mount them though there will be some testing first. Initial tests show much better reception than the cheap box I bought before.

The aerials are each about 25cm long (thin and black) and I'm thinking about the best place(s) for them and wondering if the double-glazing and any coatings would affect them? They are recommended to be mounted horizontally near the roof line.
The two favoured locations, one each side, are:
1. Very top of the windscreen, possibly just tucked behind the headlining.
2. In the rear quarter-light windows, along the rear edge, where they would be slightly visible though not horizontal.

Though a better solution might be a switching relay driven by the reversing light to do this automatically.

Apart from the obvious place by the light in the boot lid does anyone know of any good locations of a 12V reversing light signal inside the car that could cope with enough power to drive a relay - maybe 0.1A?

And after a fair bit of thought I've decided to do this, it has a lot of advantages.

I've not yet decided where the tuner and/or switch will be located; might be in the boot side or dashboard areas depending on aerial/reception tests.

Any thoughts from anyone on the best way to get a 12V trigger signal in either/both of those areas that reverse is selected?

Parktronic ECU in the boot receives reversing signal so it knows when to engage.
I remember I used that wire for something, but won't remember now for what. Need checking if it is ground on reverse or 12v on reverse though.

Good point, though I think finding the wiring to the reversing light before it gets to the grommet (for the lead to the boot lid) may be easier and have a good current capacity. I think that's on the offside above the battery.

What about around the dashboard area, any thoughts anyone?

Fuses came to mind, but sadly the drivers footwell fuse (ideal location) for the reversing lights is shared with the automatic gearbox.
