1996 D2 A8 alarm keeps going off on its own!!

Anybody been down this road? For the record, its never locked and unlocked remotely from the keys, always had to use the barrel. But it does lock all the doors at the same time, but give it 2 minutes and the alarm starts going off and flashing the hazards! Rather annoying TBH
