Question Heated rear screen.

Having to use my heated screen for the first time this year I notice I appear to have a "dead" bit (I can still see, it just looks silly!) and I see it gets a pointer in the common faults section. Ok so it's common, but no where do I see a solution!? How do I fix the little blighter? Or can't it be done? On the old school element screens you used to paint in electro paint stuff to fix cracked wires but that's obviously a non starter with these inbuilt element doodads. Anyone?

Ford Capri Laser: noisy, slow, thirsty, bouncy, no buttons but it always sounds like it’s REALLY trying and I can’t help but chuckle when it parps and boings along. And people of a certain age stare at it with a wistful look in their eyes that clearly says…I had one of them. And I sold it because of the kids
