Still looking sort of half-a-job possible for me, but without Gwen.
I have tried to offload the Russians but the firm that we cover these visits for know my name and do a bit of insisting.
Hopefully I should be clear of the airport just after midday, swift bus run to ours, collect the 8 and head northwards to the trough

I can't seem to find the car park entrance for this one on Google Street.

Stephen, have you got a link or coordinates please?

For anyone else who likes to make use of the coordinates input feature of their Audi Sat-Nav, I believe these are the correct coordinates for the remaining locations :

Hi Mark,

I can't find the exact coordinates, so I suggest - as there's probably just going to be me, you and Audi Paul at the start point - that we meet on the road at Abbeystead by the school. I'll also have my mobile with me if needed (07802 788405).

Also, the battery in my S8 is flat (can't think why…), so worse case scenario is that I'll have to bring the Tesla instead….

Cheers

Stephen

Ok, thanks Stephen.

No problem. I found the school; just couldn't find the entrance to the reservoir.

It would be kinda ironic to have to use an electric vehicle because the battery on your petrol-driven vehicle is flat!

But, whichever car you have to bring ... Would be good to see the S8 again, but cool to see the Telsa too.

If the S8 will start, you could probably get the battery replaced on the way. No doubt Halfords will be open, but probably a bit pricey. I got my last battery (a Duracell, which has been great) from this place in Bury (they'll change it for you; takes just a few mins), though not sure if they're open Sundays.

Also, I have a 'booster pack' I can bring if you like, if you think there's a chance your battery might let you down.

EDIT: I'll head for here, just outside the school: https://goo.gl/maps/PjsoyNXrwYQ2

(Is the reservoir the road on the left?)

Well, what a brilliant day that was!

Fantastic weather and beautiful scenery, not to mention great cars and good company of course! It was brilliant that you both managed to make it Paul (hope you had a good trip back to Sheffield) and good to see you both again, Stephen and Ray. We'll have to start arranging the next one soon

Lyn was a bit disappointed with her photos and has promised to do better next time. Personally, I think they're great but she was struggling a bit, braving quite severe pain of a pulled muscle in her back.

Stephen, your tax is out of date

And here's a couple of video clips pulled from my dash-cam, mostly consisting of beautiful scenery, sheep and Stephen's rear:

Yes, was a nice one!!!
Good to see all of you, especially two new faces all the way from Sheffield.
Lyn, the photos are the real deal, hope that your back repairs soon.
Another meet would be welcome.
I will not be available Sunday 8th November, marching at the Cenotaph in London for Remembrance Sunday.

A Grand Day Out…as Wallace might say , great to see everyone. And thanks to Lyn for the stills, and you for the video packages. We were certainly lucky with the weather, roll on the next one.

- and for the avoidance of doubt, the rear in question in the video was the S8's, not mine
