Thumbs up aargh no radio reception with new head unit

hello chaps
i have recently taken delivery of a connects 2 adapter kit, model AU04 which works fine but one caveat...the radio reception is very poor (cable from this thread - http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/archive/i...hp?t-7075.html)

from doing some research i gather there is a diversity amplifier/switch by the rear seats D pillar which switches between the various aerials as signal differs. i reckon it is no longer getting power since i removed the RNS-D and put in the temporary replacement double din stereo. i got the fully amplified bose kit and its all working just fine aside from poor radio reception.

question is: where does the diversity amp/switcher gets its power from? ideally there is a feed from the original RNS-D wiring behind the stereo which needs to be spliced into an ignition live

i have honestly looked through ELSAWIN and various posts on here but cant find an answer
it's cold, wet and miserable outside so whilst i dont mind soldering wires from the comfort of the driver's seat, i do get a bit upset when it comes to stripping out the back of the car

thank you guys

Power usually goes up the aerial coax cable

Smile

interesting

i have been doing more investigation, and it looks like this little beasty might be what's required.

PC5-90 AUDI A2 A3 A4 AMPLIFIED ISO - DIN AERIAL REPLACEMENT ADAPTOR MAST ANTENNA

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PC5-90-AUD...item231739a655

it squirts +12 up the aerial wire from any feed you wire it into. this shall be the ignition switched live. clearly labelled on the AU04 adapter loom.

hopefully this is the final wiring stage for replacing the standard RNS-D with any standard ISO head unit.
