Hi DavidMac8,
Good news, fantastic:love
Like I said in my earlier post, you have years to go before you can say it is too late to enjoy your dreams. Some of mine are only now just coming into view, but then I have three grandkids living with me
Do I remember right that you said you are/were an aircraft engineer?

Good news! very glad to hear that. I didn't know the tensioner could do that.
Must be a relief. I wish these engines were chain driven.

I was going to post commiserations on your '8's demise, but held off in case it was premature…and hey presto! All I'd say now is don't rush into selling it, it's best to take your time when making these decisions

Ye tintin, I'm still in a state of disbelief! Goran I truly can't get around the idea it had happened at all! Yes tc4332, I'm an aircraft engineer

Really sorry to read about your situation. Glad it's not as bad as feared.

All the best from the newest member here.

I went to an Army College at fifteen and did 12 years, first 5 as a vehicle electrician and then as Radio, Electrics and Instruments Engineer Aircraft. Started as an AT(Apprentice Tradesman) and finished as an AT(Aircraft Technician). Nine years in Germany which taught me to love German metal.

Hi Johnmed...I'm glad it's not as bad too, the 8 and C6 A6 look a great pair in the drive together

Tc4332, sounds like you've worked on some old school classic machines and now you run one

My very first car was a 1951 Opel Kapitan (Z754BZ), big end blew on the Autobahn near Duisburg, repaired it and eventually sold her to a German Taxi driver in Bielefeld. It was a big brute for an 18 year old kid, but a lot of fun. Had three other Opels over the years and even had a DKW three cylinder at one point.
