Interesting. I might give Scrypt-N a go on Nicehash and see what it does then
Is there space for air to get in to the fans on that Onda board? Last edited by MikkiJayne; 4th February 2018 at 01:40 PM. |

Cards are very close on Onda motherboard about 1cm apart. I only have 2 on there at the moment and they are running similar temps as before , fan speed is a bit higher but not loud. Don't know how will it be with 5 or 6 cards.
Speaking about NiceHash I had a look and ScryptNf price seems to be very low. Might give a go buying some hashrate from them myself. I reckon if I place the order for the all available hashrate with price slightly above current highest I will convert 0.0050 BTC paid for hashrate into 0.0087 BTC worth of Garlicoin in about 2-3 hours.

Is that based on current value of Garlicoin, or are you converting it to actual BTC? The only exchange I could find was their own, and it was broken when I looked!

It's based on value. What do you mean by their own exchange? -the reddit marketplace thread https://www.reddit.com/r/GarlicMarket/?
I did place an order just to try it out and if I exchange ti to other currency it will be on tradesatoshi.com but not for BTC as the fees will be too high to withdraw BTC, maybe LTC or buy some Cardano. It's between me and another buyer for ScryptN on NH now, we keep raising prices to get hashpower, well at least GRLC seem to be rising a bit again as well.

I think I miscalculated it a bit and also did not take any fees into account. After all the fees, GRLC price dropping and price war on orders I transferred earned GRLC to exchange and if I was to exchange it for BTC I would get back 0.00488 BTC for the 0.005 I invested, if I exchange it for LTC I would get LTC worth 0.00505 BTC. I have not done any exchange yet.

Well I'm properly mining today as I had a delivery from Bitmain.
When I say that I'm mining thats not strictly true as its rented out on MRR. I couldn't be bothered to work a price to mine at so set it at auto for now until I get time to work out what I want to do with it.

Is this normal behaviour for an Antminer rental wit the dips in Hash rate to 0?

On an L3+, yeah. I see that a lot.
I think it's usually just that the renter is mining some minor coin on a small/crappy pool. I often see that with my L3+ miners but not so much with the S9s.

It puzzled and worried me too when I first saw it, although I knew my Antminer had previously been working fine for weeks on NiceHash so I was fairly confident it wasn't a problem at my end.
To confirm, just check your Antminer's Miner Status on the web interface. If all is well (and the miner has been running for a good 15 mins or more), you should see that the MH/S(RT) and MH/S(avg) hash rate values are roughly the same, give or take about 10MHS/S. Also the ASIC status grid should all be 'oooooooo' (not x). As long as the problem is the renter's pool it shouldn't affect your hashrate rating either, even though you may find that it's pulling your average down right now. It seems that it's taken into account in the final calculation. I did have a renter request a partial refund when the same thing happened to me once, and the refund was incorrectly granted, so watch out for that. I contacted the site's admin who apologised for the mistake and promptly reversed the refund.
